2. Data we collect
We only collect data necessary to provide our educational services: (a) name and email address when you subscribe to the newsletter; (b) browsing data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) via analytics cookies when you grant your consent; (c) any information you voluntarily send us by email.
3. Purposes of processing
We process your data to: send the weekly newsletter with educational content; respond to enquiries; perform aggregated statistical analysis about site usage; comply with applicable legal obligations; continuously improve the content published. We do not use your data for automated decision-making with significant legal effects.
4. Legal basis
The main legal basis is your free, specific, informed and unequivocal consent. We also process data under the legitimate interest of maintaining site security and complying with legal obligations applicable to our activity.
5. Retention
Newsletter data is retained while your subscription is active and up to two (2) years after unsubscription, for historical and unwanted re-subscription prevention purposes. Browsing data is retained according to the retention periods configured in each analytics tool, generally between fourteen (14) and twenty-six (26) months.
6. Recipients
We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes. We may share it with technology providers acting as processors (email delivery, hosting, analytics), always under contracts guaranteeing confidentiality. In certain cases we may perform international transfers; when this happens, we apply the safeguards required by the LOPDP.
7. Your rights
You may exercise at any time your rights to access, rectify, erase, oppose, port and limit processing of your data, as well as withdraw consent. Write to privacy@ecadrop.com with the subject "LOPDP Rights" and a copy of your ID. We will respond within a maximum of fifteen (15) business days.
8. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data: encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, periodic backups and internal reviews. No system is infallible, so we also recommend using strong passwords and not sharing sensitive information through unofficial channels.
9. Minors
The site is not intended for people under eighteen (18) years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If a legal guardian detects unauthorised processing, they may request immediate deletion by writing to privacy@ecadrop.com.
10. Supervisory authority
You may file complaints with the Ecuadorian Superintendency for the Protection of Personal Data if you believe that processing violates your rights. Before contacting the authority, we appreciate you reaching out to us so that we can attempt to resolve the situation directly.
11. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect regulatory or operational changes. The current version is identified by the update date at the beginning of the document. Substantial changes will be notified by email to newsletter subscribers.
